Services
Cad Design
We provide Senior CAD Design services using both Alibre Pro and SolidWorks platforms. To minimize costs and reduce potential risks, we typically suggest a 3 step approach. This system allows clients the flexibility to pause a project at any stage without incurring the full costs of CAD completion if circumstances change.
The system is detailed under the following headings.
The system is detailed under the following headings.
Step 1: Concept Design
We create a 3D drawing to capture our client's vision, offering a detailed visual for presentations, usually in PDF format
Step 2: General Assembly
This provides a detailed assembly drawing in Step3D or another preferred format.
Step 3: Working Drawings
These 'Parts' drawings break down the assembly into files detailing manufacturing specifics such as weld types, weld radius, material, paint, and finish. They are often enough for clients to produce basic parts and are usually provided in DXF format.
Additional CAD Support
We can also provide drawings for direct CNC manufacturing, depending on the post-processing requirements.
Manufacturing Industrial Machines
We specialize in building custom one-off machines for manufacturing, whether fully automated or purely mechanical. Our size allows us to handle cost-effective builds that might be too small for larger companies, from complex production systems to simple modifications like safety guards or basic stands.
Quoting and Costing
With our expertise, we provide accurate quotes to avoid surprises and offer flexible payment options.
Turnkey Solutions
We integrate pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, electronic, and mechanical engineering into a complete machine.
Understanding Scope Requirements
We specialize in transforming customer visions into practical and effective functional solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Flexibility of Manufacturing Location
We can build machines in the client’s workshop or factory for added convenience and will install machines throughout New Zealand.
Project Management
The TCL DesignNZ team have managed local and international projects up to $70M, including a power generation project in Dubai, an automated whiteware manufacturing production line, a mooring system for ships, AGV 'Dark Rides' for the amusement industry, and a Flume Tank for scientific research.
Total Management Package
We offer to manage all aspects of a project, including design meetings, financial schedules, milestones, subcontractor coordination, and oversight of the builds.
Subcontractor Management
We manage all parties involved in a build, utilizing Gantt charts and similar tools to ensure the project stays on track.
Communication
We ensure easy, direct communication between all parties, providing regular progress reports.
Quality Assurance
We ensure the highest quality for each build through rigorous quality assurance practices.
Industrial Automation
We utilize all engineering disciplines to provide the best solutions for our clients.
Electronic System Control
This involves utilizing industrial PCs, PLCs, smart relays, and dedicated control units, such as motor controls, to manage positioning, speed, and force requirements.
Mechanical Actuators
These can be pneumatic, electric, mechanical and hydraulic actuators.
Motors
These can be AC VSD,s or servo and/or stepper motors.
Circuit Design
We offer CAD circuit design for our machine builds.
Machine Safety
We provide Machine Safety Assessments (MSAs) and solutions for all our builds, as well as for existing machines.
MSA’s
We can supply MSA’s for both existing machines and any new builds.
Machine Safety Guarding
These can be pneumatic, electric, mechanical and hydraulic actuators.
Safety Interlocks and Proximity Sensing
We utilize various rated interlocks and sensors, such as light curtains, to ensure compliance. These can be electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical.
Safety in Design
We consider all conditions, such as power-off and return-to-home or safe positions, in our designs.
Other Services
Robots
We have participated in pioneering robotic applications in local industries and received international training to enhance our expertise.Vision Systems
Trained in Germany, we leverage vision technology for robotic applications, quality control, and product handling. We integrate vision systems as a versatile tool to enhance our solutions whenever applicable.Control systems
We can provide turn key control systems (cybernetics) which can be electronic, electric, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or any combination of these.Technical Documentation & Compliance
Technical manuals, SOP's and MSA's.Mechatronics
